A golfer hooked his tee shot over a hill and onto the next fairway. Walking toward his ball, he saw a man lying on the ground, groaning with pain. "I'm an attorney," the wincing man said, "and this is going to cost you $5000."
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," the concerned golfer replied. "But I did yell 'fore'."
"I'll take it," the attorney said.

Property Casualty Insurers React to Dodd-Frank Act; New Federal Insurance Office
David A. Sampson, president and CEO of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI), issued the following statement on President Obama’s signing of the Dodd-Frank Act and the newly created Federal Insurance Office (FIO).
SE Michigan Dealership’s Collision Center Converts to Waterborne Coatings
Fresard of Ferndale, a Detroit-area automotive dealership and collision repair facility, successfully transitioned its shop to waterborne basecoat from solvent-based systems in anticipation of new air quality regulations. The collision shop is now using the AWX® Waterborne Basecoat System from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, according to its president, Doug Fresard.

Web-Est Survey on the State of the Economy
Web-Est conducted a survey with shops asked to share their opinion on the state of the economy. Conducted between July 7 and July 16, over 1,300 shops were invited to participate, with 70% of them identifying themselves as having 3 employees or fewer.

Massachusetts’ Motor Vehicle Owners Right to Repair Bill, Senate Bill 2517, has passed the state Senate and is now being considered by the House of Representatives.
Senate Passes Financial Reform Bill
The Senate has passed H.R. 4173, Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010, in a 60-39 vote, after having stalled activity on the conference report for more than a week. The legislation is now awaiting signature by President Barack Obama.

Small-Business Lending Fund Stalls on Senate Floor
“The Small-Business Lending Fund Act of 2010,” H.R. 5297, passed the U.S. House of Representatives on June 28, 2010. The Senate leadership pulled the bill from the Senate floor after procedural delays. Senate leaders have indicated that they may bring the bill to a final vote prior to the August break. The original bill, sponsored by Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., House Financial Services Committee chairman, aims to “boost lending to small businesses by authorizing a fund of up to $30 billion that will be available to financial institutions with no more than $10 billion in assets.
